A Friend and Mentor that will be Greatly Missed
By: Belma Devedzic
I met Steve in August 2015 when he hired me as his clinical nurse. We were completely opposite people. He was an extrovert that would light up any room he walked into. He could tell stories for hours and just connect with people. I, on the other hand, was an introvert that would only open up to a few people, and Steve was one of those people. He was there for me during some of the hardest times in my life. He wasn’t just my boss, but he became a friend. Some of my fondest memories of Steve are sitting in the breakroom listening to him tell stories, having dinner with his family, and bickering about stuff happening in the clinic. Listening to Steve talk about Janine, Lilly, and Abbie was beautiful. He loved being a husband and dad. I wouldn’t be where I am professionally without Steve. He encouraged me to get my master’s degree and to continue to develop and grow. He was an incredible mentor and friend. I am lucky to have known Steve and will always remember him for everything he did for the people around him.
